Zimbabwe in a state of food emergency-crisis UN says

For years, Zimbabwe’s economy has been in a rapid down-roll, one of the key reasons that led to the topling of late revolutionary leader Robert Mugabe from power

There were huge expectations when Emerson Mnangagwa took over , but things have not gotten any better, instead, the situation in the country has gone from bad to worse .Now
the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) had been giving food suplies to people and cash to buy food, but in a recent statement, it has said that the food crisis is so bad in the country that it’s going to start giving people food instead of cash to buy the food.

Zimbabwe was once a regional bread basket, but has suffered years of turmoil, civil unrests and poor rain falls meant harvests have been badly affected , this has led to a massive rice in the price of food.
