A former Ghanaian footballer claims to be “REAL” father of Marcus Rashford, he insists the “Red Devils” star is a native of the African nation.
Michael Boye Marquaye, who is 65-years of age, in an exclusive chat with Starr FM Sports claimed that the 22-year-old England and Manchester United player(Marcus Rashford) is a Ghanaian as he is his biological father.
The English premier league player was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester in the UK with Melanie Rashford of St Kitts descent as his mother and Jamaican, Joseph Rashford as his father officially. But Marquaye claimed to have had a relationship with his mother 22 years ago.
“Marcus Rashford is my son and he knows it, although we haven’t seen each other for several years,”
“Initially, he was angry because he thinks I abandoned him, but that was not the case.”Michael Boye Marquaye told Star FM
It is unclear why the former Ghanaian footballer has stayed quiet all these years but insists he is not doing so for money related benefits but he wants to set the record straight that Rashford has Ghanaian roots.
“Many now are trying to come to me to try and get a new story, but I’m not that type of person who looks for an easy way to get money or become famous,”Rashford, has not yet responded to Marquaye’s claims.
Marcus Rashford is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
He has played for England at all age levels and is currently a key figure in the red devil’s squad.
